A DANCE troupe from Liverpool were today hoping to win Davina McCall’s hit TV talent show – and take the £250,000 prize.
Dance Dynamix will compete in the final stages of Got To Dance after impressing Diversity’s Ashley Banjo, Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and Tap Dogs star Adam Garcia.
The group, based in Old Swan, are among the last 28 acts to make it through to the live finals on Sky1.
They made the semi finals last year but have come back fighting after judge Ashley told them to “up their game”.
Their recent audition – one among thousands – went so well they got positive comments from all the panel.
Choreographer Nazene Langfield has perfected their energetic routine in a bid to wow the 1,000-strong studio audience and TV viewers.
The 27-year-old said: “We were lucky enough to be in the first series of Got To Dance and we reached the semi finals.
“We’re hoping to go all the way this time. We got some great comments from the judges at our audition but we had to prove ourselves in the callback show.”
Nazene said the wait was nerve-wracking but the 12 dancers, aged between 17 to 29, were “over the moon” when they were picked.
She said: “You don’t often get a second chance so to be able to do it all again and have another chance to prove ourselves is an amazing experience.
“We’ve got an action-packed routine. It is like a full stage show packed into one minute 40 seconds.
“It’s great to get the positive comments from the judges but we’ve got to keep thinking of new ideas to impress even more so there is pressure.
“It would be life-changing to win. We’d be able to put money back into the dance school. We’ve been rehearsing a lot so everyone has had to take time off work and is living on a budget so it would be nice to be rewarded and make the final.”
See Dance Dynamix at 6pm on Sunday, February 6, Sky 1
