The Computer Shop in Colwyn Bay was inundated last week with what people thought were faulty computers.
Broadband customers in two villages in Conwy county voiced their frustration after the service developed a fault over several days.
David Mason from The Computer Shop at Colwyn Bay said people had been bringing in their computers to be repaired when there was no need, with even more ringing to request a home visit.
"But there was nothing we could do," he said.
"They were not able to go online, the light was on, but there was no internet access," he added.
A spokesman for BT said there was a fault in the core network link from the exchange which resulted in broadband circuits in the area being affected, and running slowly.
It's good to know that you can ring Dave or Ali up at the computer shop for some free advice.
