Director of the Year 2012
THE Institute of Directors (IoD) is calling for entries for its annual North Wales Director of the Year and North Wales Young Director of the Year awards.
The awards will be among 10 to be awarded across Wales in categories, divided according to region and size of business, as well as for environmental leadership, and talent and innovation.
IoD North Wales Director of the Year 2011, Huw Jones, managing director of Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK of Ruthin, said: “The Institute of Directors is a significant body, supporting and championing the needs of business leaders throughout Wales.
“I was honoured to receive the award last year, and there were business benefits, too. It’s well worth entering.”
Anyone in business can nominate associates or colleagues, or even themselves, for consideration.
IoD north Wales chairman, Helen Watson, of Aaron & Partners solicitors, said: “These awards are a positive way of recognising and rewarding business leaders for the important work they do to boost the north Wales economy. I urge directors across the whole business spectrum to take part.”
Winners from the regional awards are automatically put through to the IoD national awards, culminating in a ceremony at London’s Pall Mall, in autumn.
The Wales awards are open to non-IoD members, as well as members. They will be considered by a six-strong independent panel of judges.
The winners will be announced at a celebration lunch on May 17 at Cardiff’s SWALEC stadium where the guest speaker will be Simon Walker, director general of the IoD.
The awards are sponsored by Cardiff Business School which will also present a Chairman’s Award to a business which it will select.
The closing date for entries is March 31. Further details and entry forms can be found at www.iod.com/home/local-network/wales/director-of-the-year-awards <http://www.iod.com/home/local-network/wales/director-of-the-year-awards> or by calling Peter McGowan on 07711930735.
