Loughborough University will be home to a cutting-edge research centre funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, it was announced today.
The EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Regenerative Medicine will research therapies to enable damaged, diseased or defective tissues to work normally again.
The Loughborough centre will receive £8.3 million over 5 years from the EPSCR and 28 industrial and government partners; a total of £70 million is being invested in similar centres across the UK.
I think they could have worked harder to make the acronym more memorable... the EPSRCCIMRM? Hmm.
