Loughborough University will once again will host the final of the "First Lego League" competition on Saturday 23rd January 2010.
Youngsters from across the UK compete in teams to build and program a Lego Mindstorms robot which must complete a series of challenges based around a theme, this year it's "Transportation". Whilst building and programming the Lego robot, the kids learn a lot about the topics surrounding the theme, everything from engineering to climate change.
I attended last year's final and was very impressed with the competition and the level of work displayed by the teams on their display boards. I encourage all primary schools in Loughborough to consider getting involved next year!
