The future of the Marina Theatre in Lowestoft has been secured with the news that a charitable trust will run the theatre in a ground-breaking 15 year deal.
Waveney District Council gave their unanimous backing for a not-for-profit, charitable trust to take on the day to day running of the town's prestigious theatre.
The council will still own the building and have agreed, for a minimum of four years, to provide an annual subsidy of £150000.
It's great to see that local support for the theatre coupled with the vision and resolve of our local councillors means that we will continue to enjoy this fantastic theatre for years to come.
