It's official.
The water quality at Lowestoft's South Beach has been marked as 'high' by the Environment Agency.
Twenty water samples were taken to the North and South of Claremont Pier. The 'high' rating was achieved on 90% of the readings - that's pretty good going...
The Environment Agency measure water quality against the standards in the European Bathing Water Directive. In fact they do this at nearly 500 bathing locations around the UK.
And with staycations set to continue this year, the water quality at Lowestoft Beaches will surely be boost to our local tourism industry.
With many great B&B's and hotels just a stones throw from the beach, what could be better than having a traditional seaside family holiday in Lowestoft?
