For those of you who haven't remembered (oops!) it's Mother's Day this Sunday...
Mother's Day celebrations, believe it or not, date right back to the era of the ancient Greeks and Romans. However, Mother's Day in the UK derives from the 17th Century Mothering Sunday which took place on the fourth Sunday of Lent. It was on this day that children working away from home would be encouraged by their employers to visit their mother, bearing gifts of fruit cakes or fruit filled pastry.
So, what treats have you got lined up for your mum this weekend? We'd really love to hear from you.... whether you're planning on the traditional chocs, flowers, perhaps a meal at her favourite restaurant in Lowestoft, or maybe you have something more unusual in mind... please get in touch and tell us about it!
