The 23-year-old Lowestoft boxer has accepted the role from Waveney District Council.
Ogogo and WDC hope he will be able to use his spare time to go into schools and sports clubs and inspire local people to take part in sport see what they can set their minds to achieve.
Ogogo is still undecided whether to remain an amateur boxer or to turn professional and admits that boxing is still his main focus.
But when he does get some spare time I'm sure he'll be made very welcome wherever he visits in Lowestoft and Waveney. And I'm equally sure he'll be an inspiration to all he meets.
It's great that Lowestoft youngsters have got such a great role model in the shape of our brand new Waveney Sports Ambassador, Anthony Ogogo...
