Thebestof Lowestoft has just heard that there will be an Annual General Meeting of the Friends of Lowestoft Hospital which will be held at 7.30pm on Monday 14th May at the Hospital in Tennyson Road. A final decision will then be made then as to whether Lowestoft will be hosting a carnival this year.
Friend’s Chairman, Pat Rayner said “if we get strong public support, particularly with extra help to organise the parade, then the decision to go ahead with a parade, probably on a Sunday in September, could be made for us.”
In this year of the Queens Diamond Jubilee and The London Olympics Lowestoft should be celebrating 'everything British' with a Carnival event for all the local community to enjoy.
So if you feel as strongly about this as we do, please spread this message to everyone you know who might be able to get involved to attend the meeting on the 14th May - if we don't get behind this event we are in danger of losing the Lowestoft Carnival for good!!
