Kirkley in Lowestoft was buzzing on Monday night, as more than 30 of thebestof Lowestoft members had a chance to enjoy the surroundings of Cafe Grand, named after the Grand Cinema which used to sit on the site. Delicious sausage rolls and cream scones were a most welcome addition too!
Events kicked off with an update from Wendy and Ian, welcoming new members and guest speakers.
Denise Bretton from Forever Living spoke about her journey working many years as a banker to choosing a complete career change which not only transformed her lifestyle but her health too. We learned fascinating details about the healing properties of products made with Aloe Vera, which is renowned for its health benefits and can help with a wide variety of conditions. Denise is now free from a crippling IBS condition and enjoys running a flexible and lucrative home based business.
Another guest speaker of the evening and member of thebestof Lowestoft was Andrew McMeekin from one of East Anglia's leading hairdressers, Robert Owen Haircutters in Lowestoft. Andrew not only owns and directs a well established and very successful hair salon but also takes a leading role with Kirkley Business Association. He gave an inspirational presentation of how Kirkley businesses have all pulled together to raised the funds to buy their fabulous patriotic bunting, flags, hanging baskets and planters. Kirkley has pulled itself through the economic down turn by working as a team. Andrew went on to say that there has never been a better time for Lowestoft businesses to actively promote themselves and encouraged all business areas in the town to pull together and work as one.
We had some great vibes from so many people at the end of the evening with many compliments on Andrew's contagious and uplifting enthusiasm. Denise Bretton told us.. 'WOW! Thank you so much for inviting me to talk to The Best of members last night. It was absolutely fantastic, one of the best events I have ever done!! I have several people interested in the business as well as in the products. Oh my, if I thought I was busy before!!'
A fantastic evening was had by all! A huge thank you to everyone involved, especially the girls at Cafe Grand for hosting the event and helping it run so successfully.
All we have to do now is start planning the next one!
