The winner of the Concours d' Elegance was Ian Robertson with an immaculate MGA. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces enjoying a day at Misterton.
The proceeds for the day, organised to raise money for Rotary Foundation which is dedicated to eradicate Polio worldwide, provide fresh water in areas where it is needed amongst other causes and which has provided grants for Lutterworth Rotary Club to support Lutterworth projects at the Lutterworth College Enterprise Centre, amounted to over £2200 with monies still to be received.
Other charities which had stalls raised significant amounts of money. Inner Wheel raised £200 with their win a bottle stall.
The plant stall, run by Rtn Elaine Turner and Tilly Yates raised £800 ( this included gardening work and talks given prior to the actual event) for Macmillan Cancer Support. Barclays Bank will match £ for £ up to £750.
Whites the Florists organised flower demonstrations during the day, which were much appreciated by members of the public.
Peter Yates entertained us with his lovely clarinet playing which could be enjoyed by people whilst eating their ice creams, on seats overlooking the lake. The proceeds of which were donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Lutterworth Rotary Club would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the people who supported us by attending, by bringing their goods to sell or entertain us. A special thank you to several stallholders who have supported us for 7 years running. We couldn't do it without you!!!
The date of May 18th has been booked for 2014 and already we have 2 stall holders committed to attend. Please keep the date free.
