Damion Nickerson, 39, will begin his challenge on Sunday June 30th in support of Crimestoppers, the independent charity who operate the 0800 555 111 phone number for passing on information about crime anonymously.

Each day he will run from a different base, such as a district or borough council’s offices,  back to Police Headquarters in Enderby.  Damion, who works for Leicestershire County Council,  has set the challenge over nine days and is encouraging runners to join him for one of the legs of the run.

Damion said: “People ask why I am doing this run again after seeing the state I finished in a year ago, but I know the great work that Crimestoppers is doing and I really want to support them in their fight to tackle crime.”

There are legs for runners of any ability to join Damion on. For the hardcore, there is Oakham to Enderby, and for the strollers, there is Blaby to Enderby,

The group are only going to run as fast as the slowest runner and work as a team. It’s all about what challenge you feel you are capable of achieving, - Damion of course will be completing all the legs of the run.

“Crimestoppers do some great work all over Leicestershire and with the current financial climate, the work they do is made even harder.”
