Carla, the Society’s assistant marketing and PR manager, is to undertake the challenge on October 11 after hearing about the charity’s work with the children of UK military personnel coping with life changing injuries and mental health issues.
Carla said: “I am taking part in this scary activity in the hope that I will help raise awareness for Kids for Heroes – a very worthwhile organisation – and, at the same time, I get to tick off a lifelong ambition.”
Loughborough-based Kids of Heroes helps the children of current and former service men and woman with issues and opportunities including education, career guidance, counselling, apprenticeships and starting in business.
Kids of Heroes commercial director Andy Tinley said: “Through the support of organisations such as Hinckley & Rugby, we are able to highlight the issues faced by the children of our serving and ex-serving members of UK armed forces. Massive thanks to people such as Carla who actively support what we are trying to do.”
Carla has a target of £360 to raise in sponsorship and can be helped towards that with donations at: www.kidsofheroes.co.uk
