Lutterworth Rotary could not have picked a better evening to invite the Wigston and District Male Voice Choir to produce a musical extravaganza in aid of the Cardiovascular Research Centre (Glenfield Hospital) at the Lutterworth Community College.
Wow - what a night of good music that everyone enjoyed. During the evening we were invited to take part in singing songs from the shows along with the choir.
Peter Ward - our conductor and MC for the evening told us that the choir was formed some 42 years ago and has been going from strength to strength ever since. With a choir of 45 which included our soloist Chris Hill (baritone) who started the evening off with a moving rendition of Old Man River. Then a favourite from the Sound of Music and the audience of around 140 were well set to hit all the right notes. While their pianist Pam Birchall seamlessly linked the various pieces performed in a very professional way.
May we hope that it will not be too long before the choir can return to give us another inspirational evening.
Shy retiring (!) red-head, working hard to showcase everything great about our town and villages. Loves her son, her man & Bruce Springsteen (but not always in that order!)
