At short notice the venue was changed from the usual spacious facilities of the Samworth Academy Leicester to Lutterworth College 's food technology Dept.
The event ran very smoothly nonetheless, organised by Moira Bartlett the District Organiser, with help from members of the Wycliffe Club and Dorothy Greaves liaising with the College staff and the competing students.
Each of the 16 students produced a three course meal for two people. Ellie-Mae Burke for this club served chicken kebabs with mango salsa preceded by smoked salmon pots and followed with raspberry and kiwi tarts.
The judges were impressed by the high standard of achievement but neither of the Lutterworth entrants gained a winning place.
The first place went to the student entered by Towcester Rotary Club who will proceed to the regional final at Grimsby.
Shy retiring (!) red-head, working hard to showcase everything great about our town and villages. Loves her son, her man & Bruce Springsteen (but not always in that order!)
