Here is a report from the Lutterworth Santa Fun Run. Sadly, we weren't able to participate this year due to a prior commitment but well done to all those who did!
"On a deep and frosty morning last Sunday, 2nd December, Lutterworth once again saw a sea of Santas running, walking or ambling round one of the two courses, 3.2km or 5.5km, in aid of their chosen charity.
Everyone who ran or walked (with their family) just enjoyed a fantastic morning of fun that they won't forget.
Both Lutterworth Rotary Clubs were delighted with the turnout of over 870 Santas and would like to thank all those who supported the event, including Waitrose and others for the supply of mince pies and the Lutterworth Community Church for providing us all with both hot and cold beverages.
May we thank the media for their support along with all our sponsors - the main sponsors being ASDA IDC & CDC at Magna Park and Hinckley and Rugby Building Society plus many local businesses.
Our special thanks must go to the organising committee for the two clubs, to Lutterworth College for the use of their premises on the day and to the 50+ volunteers who acted as marshals standing at road crossings directing the runners safely round both courses.
At the finish Santas were serenaded by Radio Lutterworth & Lutterworth Town Band & there was even a qualified physiotherapist on hand to massage tired limbs.
DON'T FORGET The Santa Committee will be displaying pictures taken during the day at the Town Hall on Saturday 8th December between 10a.m. and noon and during the following week at Lutterworth Rotary Club's Mega-Sale shop in the High Street. The photos will then be on display at the One Stop Shop in Gilmorton Road where people can see some of the fun all the Santas, (not forgetting the dogs), had had by taking part. Everyone is welcome."
Shy retiring (!) red-head, working hard to showcase everything great about our town and villages. Loves her son, her man & Bruce Springsteen (but not always in that order!)
