A Teddy Bear Zip Wire event, shared with St. Mary’s Church, started the month with over 100 teddies (and other toys) of all shapes and sizes being launched off the tower of St. Mary’s Church.  The oldest teddy (owned by Dick Cousins) to brave the descent  was 70 years old, very threadbare and with only one eye.  Fortunately none of them were damaged or, more to the point, none fell off the wire!

A Civic Service for Rosita Page (Harborough District Council’s Chair) at St Mary’s Church, Bitteswell was attended with fellow dignitaries, followed by a meal at the Royal Oak.

An Award Presentation evening to recognise local businesses was held by “thebestof Lutterworth” at the Greyhound Coaching Inn, Lutterworth hosted by Carol Messenger.

Another event was my Charity Clay Pigeon Shoot held at Spa Vale Shooting Ground.  This was definitely a “hit” and was very well attended.  I actually managed to score 22 out of my 25 clays just beating Simon by one.  Gill did not do so well and suffered bruises for several days after.

The family were invited to Charlotte & Phil’s wedding at St. Mary’s Church in Bitteswell and it was great to be asked to wear my chain at the church for the photos. Not everyone has The Mayor at their wedding...........

Lutterworth Museum received “Best Event” and “Best Exhibition” at the Leicestershire & Rutland Heritage Awards and I attended a reception at the Museum.  I was really pleased they won the awards as it was really deserved.

Last but not least was my Hollywood Ball event at The Wycliffe Rooms in Lutterworth.  This was a great fun packed evening which was started by entertainment from Guinevere & Annie Newton playing their violins which was then followed by the Booze Brothers Band, who rocked, and everyone then packed the dance floor to the disco until the early hours of the morning.

·         I am entering a team in the Santa Fun Run on Sunday 28th November in Lutterworth call “Mayor’s Mixtures” so if you would like to join in get a form and don’t forget to tick the box marked – Lutterworth Mayor’s Appeal.  It will be a great fun day so hope you can make it.

Pictures show myself with Phil the groom at the wedding and my granddaughter Kimberley's teddy, Uncle Alan, descending the zip wire
