On Friday November 8th, Lutterworth College observed its annual Remembrance Day Service.
Students from every mentor group in the College were joined for the service by approximately 50 visitors, including local veterans, dignitaries and other friends and neighbours of the school. The service remembered all those who sacrificed their lives and specifically the life of an ex- Lutterworth Grammar School student, Charles Errol Hayes, who is commemorated on the school’s roll of honour.
Following the service, the visitors were joined by the entire school community for the last post and 2 minute silence, where the sight of almost 2000 people, mostly 14-19 year olds, impeccably observing this act of remembrance, provided an extremely powerful and emotional moment.
Executive Principal of Lutterworth College Andrew Cooper commented:
‘Once again we witnessed a fantastic demonstration of respect from our students. I was extremely proud of them.’
Shy retiring (!) red-head, working hard to showcase everything great about our town and villages. Loves her son, her man & Bruce Springsteen (but not always in that order!)
