Santa Fun Run 1st December
3rd December 2013
... Comments

On a bright and sunny Sunday morning the town awoke to a sea of Santas running, walking or ambling round one of the (two courses 4 km or 5.5 km) in aid of their chosen charity.

Both Lutterworth Rotary Clubs were delighted with the turnout and would like to thank all those who supported the event both athletes and sponsors.

How near can you get to our target of 1,000 when a staggering 930 took part.

Santa says thank you to both the people in Lutterworth and surrounding villages and our sponsors for making the day so successful.

We were blessed with good weather which helped to put a smile on peoples faces while supporting local good causes
Lutterworth Santa Fun Run has so far raised £55,000 since it was first introduced some 4 years ago and has become a major event in the Town’s calendar. This could never have happened without the generosity of organisations and businesses that expect nothing in return other than the feel good factor of helping others.

From Lutterworth College who provide the essential facilities, to the Community Church who give out much needed refreshments at the end of the routes plus Radio Lutterworth and Cross Counties Radio and the Town Band who
serenade the Santa’s after their exertions. To large businesses such as Hinckley and Rugby Building Society who have provided medals for the finishers and ASDA Logistics and George at Magna Park to local businesses like Coates Transport, Omega Kitchens, Fortnams Chemist, Specsavers and Broomfield’s Solicitors.

Barkers Pet Supplies in Church Street deserve a special thanks for housing the Santa Suites for us to draw from up to the big day.

On behalf of Santa, the Lutterworth Rotary Clubs would like to pass on a HUGE thank you to them all for their amazing support.

Our special thanks must go to John Turner who co-ordinated the event and his committee from the two clubs (comment was made by one of the runners who said how smoothly the event was going) and the marshals who stood at the road
crossings directing the runners in the right direction round both courses and to everyone involved in making it such a successful day.
