Shed owners are being warned to be on their guard after a spate of break-ins recently.
Two sheds in Broughton Astley were targeted between Saturday, October 15, and Tuesday 18.
A shed was broken into in Scraptoft overnight between Monday and Tuesday last week, and thieves also stole items from a shed in Harborough last weekend.
Sgt Pete Jelbert, of Harborough police, said the items stolen included garden furniture.
“We tend to see a rise in shed breaks at this time of year because people store garden equipment there for the winter and the thieves know this,” said Sgt Jelbert.
He urged people to buy a shed padlock alarm , which are available from the Neighbourhood Watch stall in Harborough’s indoor Market Hall between 9am -1pm on the first Tuesday of each month, priced £12.50
Neighbourhood Watch schemes are community initiatives that are supported by the police but not owned or run by them.
