Hinckley & Rugby staff have graduated from an Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) skills course run with other Leicestershire societies.

The 11 colleagues from Hinckley & Rugby’s head office and branches studied management skills including self-awareness, how to encourage good behaviour in others, motivation, delegation and getting the best out of your team.

Also taking part were five staff members from the Earl Shilton, Melton Mowbray and Market Harborough societies. Study sessions were held at the societies and at Loughborough College. Each person did an individual presentation at the end of the course.

Hinckley & Rugby’s assistant marketing and PR manager Carla Loughrey, one of the students on the course, said: “I really enjoyed it and got a lot out of it. It has improved how I deal with my own workload and with other people.

“It was also good to mix with the other societies’ staff and to learn that we face common issues and we shared the best ways to tackle those challenges.”
