A new report has named the most dangerous individal road in Britain as the A537 that runs between Macclesfield and Buxton.
The report, conducted by UK charity the Road Safety Foundation, covers 28,000 miles of A-roads and motorways looking for key danger indicators such as the number of accidents, collisions and speeding offences.
The charity outlines that government spending should be targeted at roads such as the A537 to improve safety on some of the most dangerous roads in the UK.
Foundation director Dr. Joanne Hill commented on the findings: "Not only can Britain reduce road deaths and serious injuries but, by targeting a relatively small mileage of high-risk roads, we can do so with good economic returns."
