Local chef, Guido Rizzo is celebrating this week after being named as one of three finalists in the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2010.
Based at popular Italian restaurant, Briscola in Bollington near Macclesfield, Guido successfully made his way through to the final in the ‘Young Chef of the Year’ category in a hotly contested competition.
The host of candidates, nominated by their peers, were scrutinised by a panel of 18 experts judges from across the UK before going through to the final of what is known in the industry as the ‘culinary Oscars’.
Now in their 17th year, the coveted accolades recognise and reward leading talent working in kitchens across the UK, with the winner being announced at a ceremony at the Lancaster London Hotel on the 24th June.
Briscola regularly receives high praise and delight from its customers, so it is no surprise that Guido has made it through to the finals of this renowned competition.
