The Carling Cup fixtures have been revealed and will see Macclesfield go up against Leicester City in their first game of the tournament.
The announcement drew mixed reactions from football fans across Macclesfield, with many airing concerns about previous away form against the Midlands side.
The Silkmen have faced Leicester twice in first round cup ties over the past four years, once in 2006 and again last season, losing both games two-nil.
Macclesfield Club chairman Mike Rance outlined: "You're always looking for a home tie in any cup competition but especially so in the Carling Cup."
"With the draw being seeded, any away tie is doubly tough and with City having finished in the Championship play-offs last season it is probably one of the toughest games we could have been given."
The game is due to be played at Leicester in the week beginning 9th August.
