Macclesfield is a hive of activity with plans for the forthcoming Jubilee celebrations, not least of which are 'Proms on the Pitch' and 'Party on the Pitch' on the 3rd and 4th June at the Macclesfield FC's Moss Rose football ground.
Hosted by Cheshire's Silk 106.9, a host of stars are already signed up for the events, with more being added all the time.
Proms on the Pitch will take place on Sunday 3rd June with the Proms Symphony Orchestra conducted by Nicholas Smith. Featuring a programme of rousing pieces including Land of Hope and Glory, You'll Never Walk Alone, Rule Britannia and many more, how can you fail to swell with patriotic pride in our Queen and Country?
At Party on the Pitch at Macclesfield FC on the 4th June, the world's No 1 Abba Tribute band Bjorn Again will be belting out tunes reminiscent of the Queen's Silver Jubilee in 1977. Also confirmed in the line up are multi platinum selling band 10cc taking us on a Dreadlock Holiday, and perhaps reminding us again that they're Not In Love.
Bringing us bang up to date will be 2010 UK Open Mic winner Hattie Keane, a local talent who attended All Hallows School and whose career is going from strength to strength, having supported Britains Got Talent winners Spelbound on tour, and performed alongside Tinchy Stryder at Live Fest at the O2 Arena. Rumoured but as yet unconfirmed on the website is also X Factor star Micha B, bringing her powerhouse vocals hot off the back of the X Factor live tour.
The pitch will offer a fully stocked bar on site and there will also be food available. However, in true festival style, families are welcome to bring their own tables, chairs, picnics, kids etc for what promises to be an amazing weekend of celebration. There will also be children's rides, face painting, a holistic chill out area (whatever that is I have GOT to try it!) and many other activities going on throughout each day.
Individual and family tickets are available, as well as weekend and VIP tickets. Thousands of revellers are expected to attend these events and tickets are on sale now via the Macclesfield Town FC website where you can also find more details, and keep up with any new developments.
