After more than 15 years, ‘Madchester’ pioneers and indie icons, The Stone Roses announced their comeback, with two reunion shows at Heaton Park in Manchester near Macclesfield in June 2012.
Tickets went on sale at 9am today (Friday 21st October) and within just 14 minutes, all 150,000 tickets had been sold, with many websites crashing due to the amount of people trying to get their hands on a piece of their youth. A third gig was then added, which sold out almost immediately.
By lunchtime, all 220,000 tickets had sold out, earning The Stone Roses a place in the history books with the fastest selling gigs in UK rock history.
Of course, it’s inevitable that tickets will now be sold at a much higher price, with many buyers purchasing more tickets than they needed to make some easy money.
However, you might be able to find a bargain by visiting SeatWave, the secondary ticket site.
