Malvern Hills Outdoor Education Centre (OEC) is nestled at the northern end of the Malvern Ridge in Worcestershire and is set within 9 acres of wooded grounds and provides opportunities for abseiling, grass sledging, adventure walks, trekking and more. Our site offers adventurous but managed activities, run by our qualified instructors, such as the extensive set of ropes courses, high level challenge activities and climbing towers. In addition to the adventurous activities the centre runs a range of curriculum based outdoor and fieldwork opportunities.

The Downs, Malvern is a busy, vibrant and successful co-educational
preparatory school for boarding and day children aged between 3 and
13 years and here we offer, what we consider to be, an outstanding education.
The school is situated on the Herefordshire side of the Malvern Hills
on a striking rural 55-acre campus in Colwall. There has recently been
significant investment in enhanced facilities; the boarding house has
been refurbished and a new sports hall, AstroTurf hockey pitch, tennis
and netball courts have been added to what has to be one of the most
idyllic prep school locations in the UK. Much emphasis is placed on the
outdoor curriculum, enabling young pupils to make the most of the
wonderful country campus.
The Downs offers comfortable, flexible, family-style boarding, providing
a real ‘home from home’ experience and also runs a helpful transport
network for local day children.
