The ‘Full Grown’ tour is a graduation from her last standup special and tour, The Intruder where people met her unique, bright, brand of comedy with the story of how her and her husband fought an intruder that kept coming to their house in one day. This new show takes a look at why Atsuko's the way she is, the new discoveries that one may still find at later stages in their life, the desire and need for family and sense of community, and to ultimately, not take life so seriously. Atsuko tackles making friends as an adult, the facade of marriage including Gender Role reversals, reconnecting family and embracing Dad Jokes.
Atsuko's comedic style is marked by its relatability and warmth, weaving personal anecdotes into her routines and addressing topics such as delayed self discoveries, family dynamics, and mental health with humor that resonates deeply with audiences. Her performances are not just about making people laugh; they also foster a sense of community among viewers by making them feel less alone in the ups and downs of life.
“I’m so excited to be back in the UK! Last time, you all packed out my two sold-out Hackney Empire shows, and I’ve been eager to come back ever since. It’s always so cool to travel and see how my comedy connects with fans all over the world. This time, I’m not just sticking to London—I’m bringing my ‘Full Grown Tour’ to Glasgow and Manchester too, for my Scottish and Northern English babes! And of course, I’ll be back in London, but this time at the even bigger and iconic Eventim Apollo. See you all so soon!” ATSUKO OCTOBER 2024
In addition to her standup career, she had two films debut at this year’s Tribeca film festival in New York: ‘All That We Love’ directed by Yen Tan and ‘Group Therapy’ directed by Neil Berkely and produced by Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat productions. She also finished a comedy feature film called ‘Outcome’ APPLE starring alongside Jonah Hill and Keanu Reeves.
‘The Intruder’ was named the "Best Debut Special of 2022" by the New York Times and one of the "Best Specials of 2022" by Vulture and Variety. She also won the 2023 Gracie Award for "Best Special" and was nominated for "Best Comedian" by the Wowie Awards. She was named one of Variety’s 10 Comics to Watch for 2022, and made her late-night stand-up debut on ‘The Late Show With James Corden’.
Atsuko was featured on ‘This American Life’ with Ira Glass and told the story of how she got to the USA. She was raised by her grandmother, and they created the #DropChallenge together which has amassed more than 10 million views. Her unique upbringing brings an artfully offbeat resilient persona which is perfectly embodied in her blunt fringe and bowl haircut.
