Doctors in the hospital told me that if it wasn't for the Air Ambulance I would have been paralysed or worse and I am truly grateful. Having the Doctor on board the Air Ambulance definitely made a difference. Quite simply they brought hospital to me and saved my life.

I suffered a serious head injury and a badly broken collarbone, following a motor bike accident on 19th June 2010. Just three months later I was not only here to tell the tale but was racing my bike again. It’s all down to Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).

I feel so lucky that I was airlifted by DLRAA. It would have taken me over 40 minutes to get to hospital by land and this would have been too long for me. Doctors even said that if it wasn’t for DLRAA, their skill and the speed in which they air lifted me I wouldn’t have made it.
