When it comes to wine, I doubt whether there is anyone more knowledgeable of his trade in the region than Duncan Murray, his wife Megan and and their very likeable team!

And yet with all their knowledge, you'll find no snobbery - just raw infectious passion to help you choose the best wine for an occasion to suit your palate, and all in a very friendly and fun environment.
And their enthusiasm doesn't stop with wine - they are equally passionate about their range of beers and spirits - a wide range of Gins in store, including Camden's Half Hitch, Misty Isle from Skye and Citadelle from France.
It all started for Duncan after a college visit to Bordeaux in 1989, where he discovered his incredible passion for wine and after learning his trade at Oddbins and working the French vineyards, Duncan and Megan finally opened their shop in Adam & Eve Street, Market Harborough in December 2001.
It was just the beginning and now 22 years later, Duncan Murray Wines is highly respected as one of the most formidable independent wine merchants in the country.
It has been nationally recognised in recent years for:
Well for a start, you won't find any product in the shop that hasn't been thoroughly inspected, tasted and approved, resulting in a staggering 97% being rejected!
The wines, beers and spirits selected are special and many unlikely to be found in other retail shops.

The services provided are exceptional - informative and directly aimed to help you enjoy wine at its best, whatever the occasion.
If you have an event coming up, a business event, a party or perhaps a wedding, Duncan Murray Wines are there to help with a range of services and expert advice, offering:
“Faultless service and a very good Sauvignon, which was clearly observed by a significant number of guests, as there was precious little left!” Richard Ferrand Organisation

"Thank you so much for supplying the booze for our wedding, it went down a treat. We cannot recommend you enough - comprehensive, professional and friendly service." Josie & Gareth S.

The infamous 'Wunderbar' first popped up for business within the shop in August 2017 and has proved to be a staggering success ever since, currently opening on selected Fridays from 4pm to 8pm.
So when open, you can 'pop in' for a drink and enjoy lovingly chosen wines and beer in a quite unique setting. There will even be nibbles to enjoy too! HOWEVER, these sessions are very popular and so we strongly advise you to 'book' your barrel table in advance as we could fill up.
For fun and free informal tastings, you are invited to come along to the weekly tastings at the shop in Adam & Eve Street and try a selection of wines or beers for FREE with a guide to each one and an opportunity (without obligation) to purchase. No need to book - just show up anytime between 12pm and 3pm!
You can even try a tasting masterclass and be guided through some great tastes at one of the events planned throughout the year.
The updated 2024 Tastings Calendar CAN BE SEEN HERE and you can get tickets from the shop or by calling 01858 464935.
Gin, Belgium beer, French wines and much more! You can also keep an eye on the 'What's On Guide' to find details of the next event.
