Have been a regular over the years to this restaurant. Food has always been very good, although it is hit and miss with the staff - sometimes you can get one who obviously has better things to do other than serve paying customers!

The restaurant was very busy, but they squeezed us in even though we didn't have a reservation. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and reasonably priced. The restaurant has a very classy feel to it, without being 'stuck up'. The set meals are especially well priced for the amount of food you get. If we had to find fault, I would say some of the waiting staff could have been a bit friendlier, and we witnessed one of the senior staff shouting at another waitress which made us slightly uncomfortable. The food more than made up for that minor incident.

Everyone in Harborough im sure has tried this grand looking Chinese place.
Unfortunatly after the facade its not up to much.
Last time we went we were seated in the holding area downstairs with a drink to pick from the menu, nothing wrong with that except when we had decided we had to interrupt the two staff members from their chat, (which had gone on the whole time we were there), to say we were ready to order.
There were four of us and we had decided that two of us wanted the seafood banquet @ £35, and the two others had decided on a non seafood banquet @25, good money you would think until they refused to allow us to have what we wanted because the minimum order for each kind of banquet was three people. Why ?
Manager was called who shrugged his shoulders, I told him in that case we would pay for our drinks and go elsewhere, he again shrugged his shoulders, so we were out across the street to Shagarika the indian place and had a great meal for half the cost.
I will be swerving this place in future and i would recommend you do the same.

We were only in Market Harborough for one night and Hans was recommended to us.
It has apparently been established for upwards of 20 yrs.The street appeal was evident from the off - a traditional carved table in the window clearly showing a menu to draw you in.
Downstairs is beautifully furnished for the takeaway client but upstairs was a properly set out restaurant, starched white tablecloths, fresh flowers and beautiful architectural flower displays in the windows.
Then there was the food. Probably one of the most comprehensive Chinese menus I've seen in a while. I wished I could have returned time and again to savour something new.
We opted for the Han Special Set Menu - £22 per head for a starter, half a duck, three meat dishes and a rice dish, toffee apple/banana and chinese tea. Beautifully presented - lovely sculpted carrots and tasted divine.
I thoroughly recommend Hans Restaurant for an intimate and special dining experience

Food was fine but evening was spoiled because the front of house temporary waiter was far too free with his hands - on my male partner!!!

We have eaten here several times as a family and we love the various banquet option which for around £20 a head is fantastic value and delicious to boot.
Would recommend if you like Chinese food.

For......Excellent decor and cleanliness, no flock wallpaper and faux dragons. Food is well above average for Chinese restuarants, with no MSG in the mix.
Against...... Can be noisy as they specialise in large parties. The noise from the table of 15 behind us made conversation almost impossible.
Miserable senior waitress ( the owner?) Did the usual pouring the whole bottle of wine in the hope you'll order another bottle.
Message ontable asking for cash tips to avoid paying tax.Quite expensive. (£16 for a £5 bottle of Chardonnay)
Not sure if I'd return, perhaps yes if guaranteed no parties booked.

Been here many times and it never fails to satisfy. The Banquets are great value for money and offer an excellent varied menu to suit your taste. It was a Saturday evening and the room was full but the service maintained at a really good standard. It is a fantastic place for a group party.

Recently attended HAN for their Chinese New Year's party. The food was excellent, the best I have tasted in a very long time as was the service. Restaurant had also arranged traditional 'Dragon dance' and a 'Chinese firecracker' as added entertainment. Absolutely superb evening and look forward to returning again very soon. The manager did remind me a little of Uncle Benny from the Chinese cop movies, he was fun, vivacious and an absolutely wonderful host.

The venue is lovely and you feel special when there. The food is very good but on the expensive side. Staff rush around so don't make time to speak to customers.

I have visited Han's several times and have always found the food to be of a consistently high standard .
There is a wide choice from both the set dinner menu and the 'a' la Carte menu .The service is both welcoming and friendly making for a very pleasant dining experience.

After visiting this restaurant for the first time this weekend, I have to say that I am thoroughly pleased with my wife's suggestion of visiting as it was recommended to her by a colleague.
As our party of 6 entered the restaurant, we were greeted with smiles and open arms by our hostess. She then took us to our table in the restaurant upstairs which was set out in an immaculate and uniformed manor.
This set the precedent for the night that would ensue, the staff were very friendly and very helpful in guiding us through their menu. The food was cooked and presented beautifully and my wife and I both felt that the price truly reflected good value for money. We all chose the "Han Banquet" which was a set 4 course meal for around £22 and every penny was well worth spending.
We have already booked again for the New year celebrations, which, as we were told by members of the adjacent table, will truly be a night to remember.
We are all counting down the days :)

You enter a beautifully oriental reception room and bar at street level, then go upstairs to a pleasant dining room. There's a wide range of chinese dishes and a good selection of wines. The staff are very helpful and will offer advice on how you would like your food - not too spicy in my case. I've eaten here on several occasions and always enjoyed the experience. A good place to have a celebration meal.

Although inaccessible to the disabled (on the first floor and no lift) for the able bodied it's worth the climb to reach the elegant and attractive dining room which is more classical western than Chinese. We like wine and Han has a comprehensive, well chosen selection.
The Menu is carefully thought out, with both set meals for those less familiar with Oriental food and a wide a-la-carte selection. We particularly like the extra dishes included if three or more people are dining together. Han is not cheap but I consider it fair value. I have been eating there for 17 years or so, even though it's a round trip of almost 40 miles, especially if there's a birthday or other special event. The staff are friendly and happy to give advice (although the European part-timers don't know as much as the Chinese waiters).

I like eating in at Han, but would warn people off the takeaway option: the portions are small, the food only average and it's almost twice as much as other Chinese takeaways in the town.
