The Market Harborough Chamber of Trade and Commerce monthly meeting was attended by many independent traders and ITN News.
The Market Harborough Chamber of Trade and Commerce monthly steering group meeting was launched in a networking format for the first time on Wednesday night. This new format involved a speaker and an opportunity for people attending to tell others what they do for their business in and around Market Harborough. It also included the general policy and aims and goals for "The Chamber". Members of the group are automatically affiliated to the "Leicestershire Chamber of Trade and Commerce"
Just to underline the fact that this was a bold step by us to change our format and open the meeting up to the benefit of all our members in Market Harborough we also had a visit from ITN News. They turned up fully equipped with camera and a reporter, as they are doing a feature for national news on the recession and how it is affecting different communities and business communities across the UK. They were interested specifically in Market Harborough because of the high number of independent traders operating in the town.
Our guest speaker was Alastair Campbell of The Ideal Marketing Company who highlighted 12 classic ways that people tend to get their marketing wrong. This was very well received by all who attended and many went away with a clearer idea of what they wished to achieve from their marketing activity. Alastair also introduced his 100% funded course "The Marketing Mentor" teaching business owners how to maximise each sector of their marketing in 18 easy chunks 1 each month.
Next month's meeting is on 25th and the guest speaker will be John Hill with "How Your Local Customers Can Make The Difference To Your Business"
