Listed below are the priorities you told us about three
months ago and how we tackled them:
You told us...
The illegal possession and supply of drugs and any litter
associated with its use around Skippon Close and
Stuart Road, on the Southern Estate, Market
Harborough. We will carry out operations between 2pm
and 10pm, seven days a week:
We responded...
…by targeting people who our intelligence suggests
both misuse and perpetuate drugs offences within
Market Harborough. We have executed nine premises
warrants and run a number of plain clothed operations
to target drugs misuse within the town. We have had a
number of successes in the town centre. Over the three
months we have dealt with 34 individuals for drugs
offences on this beat - four have been charged with
producing or supplying cannabis, three have been
charged with possessing heroin or crack, 22 have been
dealt with for personal possesion of cannabis, and
others are on bail while we carry out further enquiries.
You told us...
To reduce purse thefts. particularly in charity shops and
independent retail outlets on the High Street, Market
Harborough, between 1pm - 5pm, Monday to
Saturday.
We responded...
…by continuing with plain clothed operations in
Harborough town centre. We have not suffered a theft
from person since 22nd March 2010. To date compared
to this time last year we have reduced theft from
persons by 33 per cent. This equates to six fewer
elderly and vulnerable victims of this offence.
