Last Wednesday saw the AGM of The Market Harborough Chamber Of Trade And Commerce elect a new President and Steering group. The Chamber has recently been revitalised when in 2008 a full committee was put into office, the first for several years.
Since then with focus of a whole team the membership has grown from 27 to the current day 102. “The whole team have worked very hard over the last 2 years to breath life back into The Market Harborough Chamber Of Trade And Commerce. Our main goals were to get more businesses working together in the local area and to give them an opportunity to have their say on what they want from us. This was one of the main reasons we made the steering group meetings open to all members which ultimately lead to them becoming a networking format too. We are delighted with the difference we have made by getting more involved with Harborough in Bloom, Harborough Carnival, the Christmas trees and lights and also helping to set up the Buzzing Business forum for local businesses”. Says John Hill of Thebestof Market Harborough before handing over the Presidency to Phil Shepherd of Rutland IFA.
“I am obviously flattered to be elected and will endeavour to carry on the good work that the team have already achieved thus far. We have some new ideas and more opportunities for the local businesses to get involved. I would like to thank John for all the work he has put in over the last 2 years and hope to take The Market Harborough Chamber Of Trade And Commerce on to the next stage.” Said Phil Shepherd the New President.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday 28th July at The Angel Hotel, meet in the bar for open networking at 6.30pm and meeting starts at 7.00pm with finish at 8.00pm.
