The excitement has been mounting as the 70 day relay got under way at the weekend. On Monday 2nd July at 15:20hrs the olympic torch relay will start the route through Market Harborough.
Starting at Rockingham Road with the junction of Ashley Way, the torch bearers will start their route, going down Rockingham Road, past the train station, down St Mary's Road, right into Adam and Eve Street, at the back of the old Grammar School, left onto the High Street and right up Coventry Road.
There will be pre activation vehicles to entertain the crowds before the relay starts with music, entertainment and some freebies for the crowds.
Market Harborough have a committee that have been tasked with making this day even more special by having representatives from local sports groups and clubs displaying what they do and inviting the public to join in and have a go. This will be on Symington's Rec after the relay in our Torch Relay Community Village where we can all join in the fun.
