Stapleford Park has announced that there is an extension for the closing date to a prestigeous golf tournament.
The winners of a prestigous golf tourament will win a luxury VIP golf experience at the Aberdeen Brunei Senior Masters. This really is a 'money can't buy' experience. Stapleford Park is pleased to announce, following a meeting at Stapleford Park between, Shuif Hussain (Stapleford Forum), Sheikh Jamaluddin, Tourism Brunei and Andrew White, WSM Sponsorship (sponsors and organisers of The Aberdeen Brunei Senior Masters) and a last minute interest the competition deadline for Stapleford Park Golf Challenge - The Race to Brunei has been extended.
30th November is now the closing date of the Stapleford Park Golf Challenge - with the grand final taking place on 6th December. The announcement means that current competitors can improve on their scores and league standing for a place in the grand final. The event rules also allow new competitors to join the league at any time. There are three leagues, one for Stapleford Club members, one for non-members league and also a fun league - so the competition is open to all.
Following the decision Shuif Hussain, Managing Director said "I am delighted to be able to give our current and new competitors the opportunity to improve their standing with better scores. The end prize of a luxury VIP golf experience at the Aberdeen Brunei Senior Masters really is a 'money can't buy' experience. The top two players in our grand final will be flown out to Brunei to play in the Pro Am tournament along side such greats as Sam Torrance, a former captain at Stapleford Park Golf Club, Bernard Gallacher and Sandy Lyle. Our two lucky winners will stay in the luxurious Empire Hotel & Country Club alongside the professionals and will be free to explore the wonderful country of Brunei; this is a truly unique prize".
Current leaders of the Stapleford Park Challenge are Robert Smith for the Stapleford Park Club members league and from the non members league Iain Grant from Ulsthorpe Golf Club.
Sheikh Jamaluddin (Director of Tourism Brunei), Andrew White (CEO WSM Sponsorship) and Harry Owen (Event Manager, WSM Sponsorship) were all at Stapleford Park to sign the sponsorship agreement supporting The Aberdeen Brunei Senior Master taking place in February 2009.
A European Seniors Tour event is especially significant to Brunei as many of the top names in golf were invited by Royal invitation to Brunei in the early 1990's to play on its magnificent golf courses. Many of these players are now regular competitors on the Seniors Tour and to return to Brunei over a decade later to play in the Aberdeen Brunei Senior Masters promises to be a monumental reunion.
