Many of you will remember that a while ago the Best of Melton Mowbray organised a prize draw competition, with a £500 prize. We thought the new Blog gave us an excellent opportunity to tell everyone about the result! Participants had to either write a review of a Melton Mowbray business which was already on the Best of Melton Mowbray, or write a recommendation for one that was not. All those people who either recommended or reviewed a business on the site were placed in an 'electronic hat' and the winner was drawn at random. The more reviews or recommendations that people wrote, the more chances they had of winning! The winner of the £500 prize was Mr Nick Gasson.
Nick wrote a review of Apex Builders (who are featured on the
Best of Melton Mowbray) as he was delighted with their excellent
service. He wrote, 'Les and his team have done a few jobs
for us and I can honestly say they are truly professional in
every way. Always reliable, honest and tidy. They
even went that extra mile and looked after the dog while the
building was going on.....!! Would definitely highly recommend
them.' Nick gave them the highest rating possible, that
of 'Truly Exceptional' indicated by 3 speech bubbles.
Not surprisingly, Nick decided to spend his £500
prize money with Apex Builders, who have now built a house
extension for him. Les Orridge, the owner of Apex Builders
said that he was delighted that Nick had decided to spend the
money with him and is happy to take on other local building
projects, large or small. Apex Builders undertake all
aspects of building work, including new builds, extensions,
conservatories, loft extensions and plastic window
installation. If you look at their feature on the Best of

local work that Apex have undertaken, all for satisfied
customers. Many have used Apex Builders a number of times
over recent years.
After winning the £500 prize, Nick said, 'Les and

building a porch to a whole new build of a pair of flats.
In every job they have undertaken, they have been completely
professional in every way. We cannot recommend them

Previously, the Best of Melton Mowbray had offered three
£100 prizes in this way. The delighted winners
spending their prize money at Thompsons Family Butchers, Kings
Road Bakery and with Ironing 4U. One of the terms and
conditions of the prize draw, is that the prize money is spent
with a business that is promoted on the Best of Melton Mowbray
website. Needless to, say, with over one hundred quality
Melton Mowbray companies on the site, there is a great choice for
people to decide where to spend their winnings!
