What causes heel pain?
Heel pain has a variety of different causes, although the most common is a condition called plantar fasciitis.
- Although heel pain can be mild and will sometimes disappear on its own, in some cases the pain persists and can become a chronic problem
What are the symptoms?
- Pain and Inflammation usually starts without any injury to the area (often triggered by flat shoes) and is usually felt underneath the foot towards the front of the heel. This pain can often ease with activity but can get worse by the end of the day!
Treatment?
- Check your footwear - avoid flat and unsupportive shoes
- Stretch out the Achilles tendon and calf muscles.
- Soft Tissue Release and Manual Therapy
