The Family
After chuckling through the trailer for this movie with friends we made a point of going to watch it. It’s about a mob family that rat out the mob and are now undercover on the run from the mob while being protected by the FBI.
The trailer made out that is was going to be a mobster funny comedy. This was not the case. The funny bits in the trailer were mostly the only funny bits. It turns out to be more a black comedy movie. While there are comical incidents, there is also a serious under tone. There are deep moments especially with Dianna Agron’s character as the daughter, falling in love and John D’Leo’s charter as the son, acting as a mini version of his father. They are two typical teenagers struggling through high school with teen angst while also dealing with the lies that have to up hold while being in protective custody.
Its one of those movies that has a fantastic cast but that’s mostly all that is fantastic about it.

The Councillor
This movie is packed to the brim with 'A' list celebrities. After about 15 mins into this movie I was wondering what was going on - it seems my friend felt the same as she lent over to me and said the same thing. Basically all I could get from this movie was The Councillor (Michael Fassbender) wanted in on a major drug deal and it goes all wrong, and what happens to all the characters who are involved. Throw in some stories that seem to link into the main story and you have a recipe for a confusing plot. Not even the presence of Brad Pitt saved this movie - his character is a sleazy cowboy that seems to help the Councillor's character get involved in the deal.
Its a movie I’d rather have given a miss and watched something less confusing.
