Grants available for improving public spaces

If you have an idea to make your town or village a better place to live then Monmouthshire County Council may be able to help you out.

Under the Tidy Town initiative, there are grants of up to £1000  available for accredited Community/Volunteer Groups who wish to initiate/continue projects which can help transform or benefit the local environment. There is the possibility for 8 groups to receive funding of up to £1000 each or the money can be split into smaller sums over more groups. You can apply anytime as they are considering applications on a rolling basis.

To apply make sure you satisfy the criteria below and then call or email  Monmouthshire's Tidy Towns Officer Alison Howard on 01633 644844 or email alisonhoward@monmouthshire.gov.uk for an application form and details.

Tidy Towns is a Welsh Government funded initiative administered by Monmouthshire County Council.

This is the criteria which have to be filled to enable MCC to satisfy Welsh Government funding requirements and they are set out below:

* Turning waste grounds into a community space

* Maintenance or improvement of a public area

* Education and awareness initiatives including campaigns and promotions

* Tools and equipment to help carry out the work

* Anything that makes your town, village or community a better, cleaner place to live.
