Christmas shopping is not something everyone looks forward to but in a town such as Monmouth we have a huge variety of independent shops with unusual and quirky gifts you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere.  The Indie Christmas challenge is also designed to put some fun into shopping. Every shop involved in the challenge has a poster in the window. Go into any of these shops, pick up a card and a sticker and start the challenge. Collect ten stickers and you can enter the prize draw. Put your completed card in the post boxes in Sew-at-Home, The Beacon and Handyman House.

The prizes include:

The Best of Monmouth in partnership with The Beacon has organised this challenge with the support of its sponsors; Roscoe Rogers and Knight, Celandine Financial Advisors  and Archenfield Insurance Management.  Phil Smith, Managing Director of Roscoe Rogers and Knight says “ I am more than happy to support this campaign, Monmouth has an excellent range of independent retailers and businesses  but it is true if we don’t use them we could lose them.’   Celandine Ltd Annie O’Keeffe, Director says ‘ I am delighted to be able to support Indie Christmas as we believe strongly that independent business owners deliver a personal service that is unmatched by national and online retailers.’  Stuart Love , Director at Archenfield Insurance Management Ltd says ‘We support Monmouth’s Indie Christmas Campaign because it reflects our aims; keep business local.’

Fact- for every £1 spent in the local community around 50-70 pence stays in the local community as opposed to spending with national retailers where less than 10p in the pound stays in Monmouth.
