Ty Hafan offers support and comfort to families where a child has been diagnosed with a life limiting condition. Set up in 1999, the hospice has helped over 500 families. They receive no funding and are not part of the NHS so rely on kind hearted donors to raise funds. Monmouth Comprehensive School recently held a heroes day, where the children dressed up as their favourite real or fictional heroes and they raised over £950 for the cause. It was a huge achievement but the hospice needs £3 million per year if it is to continue to offer this vital service to families. The service is offered in people’s homes and at the hospice and is completely free of charge. Serving the whole of Wales, it is a unique place that allows families to spend time together away from all the pressures that illness can bring. Please visit their website and help them to continue to offer this care and love. http://www.tyhafan.org
