Charity Masquerade Ball

Emma and her husband are organising this fabulous ball to raise money for Beaumond House Community Hospice, Newark.

Emma tells me;

"To give you a bit of background as to why we’re organising this event; my Mother-in-Law, Marie West, sadly passed away in May 2009 and prior to her death, was cared for by Beaumond House Community Hospice. She was one of the first patients on a new scheme where the hospice provides daily care and assistance in the patient’s own home. The care provided was excellent as was the support for the family and she was able to spend her last few days in her own home retaining her dignity to the end. The care provided by Beaumond House helped to make a very difficult time a little bit better and my husband and I decided that each year we would organise an event in Marie’s memory to raise money for Beaumond House so they can continue to help patients and families like ours.

Along with the help of Ashleigh Parker, a volunteer at Beaumond House, we're currently trying to obtain sponsorship for the ball. If part or all of the cost can be covered by sponsorships, it helps the Ball to raise a higher profit for Beaumond House. We have a headline sponsor, Phruit but still have a few sponsorship packages remaining."

As some of you may be aware, in June 2010 Emma and her husband organised a successful fundraising BBQ with live music which took place at the Mayze pub on Castlegate and raised over £1,100 for Beaumond House. This was made possible by the kind donations of local businesses that donated food and raffle prizes and of course, the Mayze and local bands.

This year they hope to, at the very least, triple that amount! This can be made possible by the support of the public and businesses (such as Phruit who are delighted to be supporting Beaumond House) in and around Newark.

Tickets will be priced at £20 and will include a drink on arrival, hog roast (vegetarian option available), chocolate fountain, entertainment, and live music. There will also be the chance to win some great prizes in the raffle (see the 'raffle prizes' page for an updated list).
