Last week I re-visited The Acers on The London Road in Newark. 60 seconds from the A1, 60 seconds into town, this B&B has changed beyond recognition.
Meg McDougall came to Newark from Scotland and she had a dream, a vision. A year later she is realising that dream. She bought the B&B realising that she had a major renovation job on her hand; along with a stagnant albeit empty in-door swimming pool and a couple of dark, souless rooms, she inherited a business that was ticking along due to a great location and nothing else.
Meg with the help of Ian Goy from I.G. Building Developments Ltd and Joseph Gilbert from Gilbert Electrical has transformed this bed and breakfast into self-contained accommodation that is light, on trend and welcoming. She is getting some great reviews and is opening the house and the rooms for local businesses and people to have a look around and appreciate the changes she has made.
There is such a difference to this B&B it is staggering. If you are looking for accommodation for relatives or employers then this is a great choice in terms of comfort, price and location. Meg has thought of everything to make your stay a great one.
