Our aims are to provide the best possible education for all students regardless of ability or background in order for them to become active and productive citizens. Our curriculum is rich and varied; it is personalised to meet students' needs including not only the more traditional subjects but also a range of vocational options.
Magnus is a mixed 11-18 Federated Trust Comprehensive School with 1100 students on roll including a Sixth-Form of 130 serving the market town of Newark and surrounding villages. The school has a long tradition dating back to the middle of the 16th Century when a local landowner, Thomas Magnus, bequeathed a very generous sum of money to provide a free grammar school for the town. Although the school has undergone many changes in the intervening period we are still proud to bear his name.
