The residents of Catherine Middleton's home village of Bucklebury in Berkshire are planning to celebrate her marriage to Prince William on April 29th in style.
The bunting will be out across the parish and large scale events are being planned to bring together the village's 2000 residents.
Not surprisingly, parties are being hosted by Bucklebury's two local pubs, The Bladebone and The Cottage Inn and a village extravaganza, "Tea in The Park" featuring live music, food and family fun will take place at Bucklebury Farm Park on the afternoon of the wedding.
Residents will be able to start the day early with hot bacon rolls and bucks fizz from 10am at The Bladebone in Chapel Row, where landlord Simon Kelly will be providing a "big screen" TV for locals to catch the unfolding events in Westminster. The fun at the Bladebone will continue into the evening with Simon's famed Karaoke on the menu.
Cottage Inn landlords Gary and Mandy Bush will also be throwing their doors open early to offer refreshments and all the TV action giving neighbours the chance to share the occasion and raise a toast to the happy couple. The pub will also be offering games for the children and a fireworks display in the evening.
Also in Upper Bucklebury, Hash and Chan Shingadia at Peaches Stores will be offering breakfast and refreshments to customers.
In the afternoon, the village celebration, the "Tea in The Park" feast will be held at Bucklebury Farm Park with up to 1500 residents, children and friends expected to gather for a hog roast, live music from local bands, competitions and family fun culminating in a "proms" style fanfare. Highlights will include a giant wedding cake, a prince and princess contest for the best crown and tiara and the signing of a village plate by the local children to mark this historic occasion.
