Come and hear Newbury poet Steve Wallis share some of his work, then stay a while to write your own piece, inspired by one of West Berkshire Museum’s special exhibitions. Steve has been a writer and performer for 40+ years and promises that anyone can write a poem they're pleased with if they follow the simple steps of his workshop. Please bring your preferred writing materials and/or technology. Steve Wallis gains much of his inspiration while walking his dog, Noggin, around Newbury and the surrounding area, leading to collections celebrating the history, ecology and the beauty of West Berkshire. This free poetry reading and writing workshop are held in celebration of National Poetry Day (Thursday 3rd October 2024). Although this is a free event, places are limited and must be booked in advance: https://tinyurl.com/4c63aycx Bookings close 4pm the day before the event.
