Local residents are campaigning for a new pedestrian crossing.
Residents from the George Lambton estate have joined forces to campaign the county council for a new pedestrian crossing on Exning road.
Campaigners say the road is dangerous and frightening to cross. Many of the 370 new houses are occupied by young families and they face a daily struggle crossing the road to attend Houldsworth Valley Primary School.
The campaign was started over Christmas via a Facebook page; residents are now collecting signatures for a petition and held a demonstration last Saturday with over 60 local people protesting for the much needed crossing.
Highway's officials at Suffolk County Council have told the residents that their request will be added to the county's list but funding is limited and must be allocated to schemes that will give maximum benefit.
