Yes Newmarket, we are ready to celebrate with the Diamond Jubilee this year and our friends at Suffolk County Council have given us a free ticket to make them the best party ever!
As a huge national celebration, we were hard pressed not to want to get a street party or two in our locality and in previous years, the approval and ultimate go ahead for such shin-digs which rests with the county council, were often met with restriction and condition and trepidation.
This year however, Suffolk County Council has stated they would take full responsibility for the street party applications with no costs to the prospective organiser, opting for a smoother process and more enjoyable experience for all.
The Jubilee celebrations will be taking place between June 2nd and June 5th, so be sure to make a date for the diary. You could of course make use of some of Newmarket's local producers and take the party to your gardens and terraces, but either way we are sure to get the party started!
